The three brothers decided they needed to give surfing a try, so Van and I joined them and we headed to Double six beach, close to Seminyak. Van, Paul and dad rented surfboards while John and I rented sun loungers. The waves were great, perfect for beginners and the weather was sunny and hot. Dad, Paul and Van caught quite a few waves and when Dad got tired I jumped in and he gave me a few lessons. I managed to stand up on my first try and enjoyed surfing the white water and learning.
Afterwards we headed back to pick up the rest of the family and Rama took us to a different street in Seminyak that Paul and Dee had discovered for good shopping. We spotted a cool restaurant and decided we might as well eat. They made amazing smoothies and I had great sushi. Afterwards we walked up and down the busy street and popped into various shops. Van and I bought hats!
In the evening, we all grabbed whatever takeaways we felt like... Laura, Van and I decided we fancied Japanese so we walked until we found a very nice place and ordered sushi, gyoza, chicken katsu and noodles. As we walked back, Laura and I were cat called by some sleezy old men at a bar, who ended up being Dad and Paul, having a laugh and a drink while waiting for their takeaways!
After dinner we very sadly had to say goodbye to Uncle Paul, Dee, and Grandma. It was particularly hard to say bye to Grandma, who at 92 had done so amazingly well! It was just awesome that she was able to join us.
